Even when the themes are Qur’anic the discussions are eclectic in nature, and the author brings to bear on his discussions his wide scholarship in various modern disciplines. Of course, his knowledge of the Qur’an is also deep and his understanding of the modern developments in various branches of scholarship is remarkable.
